| Latin America and the Caribbean are considered vital to Oshkosh'
growth strategy for commercial products. Since the 1970s, Oshkosh
aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) trucks have been widely used
by airports throughout the region. In recent years, we've made gains
in marketing to municipalities with the popular Contender by Pierce
brand of fire trucks in Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile, Colombia,
Venezuela and more. Medtec ambulances are also exported to municipalities
and government agencies.
While McNeilus concrete mixers are helping build roads, homes and
building throughout the region, McNeilus refuse collection bodies
are used to keep the streets clean. Oshkosh has 49% ownership in
Mezcladora y Trailers Mexico (MTM) located in Puebla, about 75 miles
north of Mexico City. This affiliate produces McNeilus brand refuse
collection bodies and concrete mixers for customers throughout South
America.
